Tiger's Official Statement

November 29, 2009

Here is the full text of the statement by Tiger Woods posted Sunday on his official Web site.

As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

please leave him alone he made big mistakes and really wants to bulld trust with his wife. They have enough to deal with without looking done on him no one knows why he strayed away from his wife . You cannot always blame just the guy but he knows he did wrong and hoping they get it together as it seems he is really trying and the public should respect his wishes. I hope that Tiger works hard and brings thing together and she has trust in him. I believe in him to work things out if she stays she is a strong woman much stronger than myself as I left for the same reason good luck and I wish him the best Donna from St. Catharines ,Ontario

Name: aishah abdullah Date: Friday, Dec 11 2009

come on leave the guy alone nobodys perfect ok.i hope his wife will learn to live with this revelation.in fact she should expect this kind of problem when she marry one of the famous men in sports world.every tom dick and harry, would have done the same thing, but because they are not famous, nobody knows what they have done.he's just very famous that's why it's blown out of proportion.

Marriage should be respected, while people do make mistakes deciding that marriage is old fashioned and should be disbanned is not the answer. As a born again believer I know God intends for man and wife to become one and to be faithful until death parts. The flip side is forgivness, the Bible maybe old fashioned, but it is the one book that has stood the test of time. For a reason - as it is God's living word. Have I made mistakes? Yes plenty.... I am grateful for Mercy.

He is having an affair, he left to see the dirty ***** at 2:23 am, wife got made chased him down, threw golf club at window. He then crashed, she felt bad and called 911. There, story told. Now everybody, get a life.

Name: Carol Lee Date: Thursday, Dec 03 2009

He has admmitted to his infidelity and has already paid the very high price of being a 'cad'. Unfortunately, his perfect life is now turned upside down and will never be the same. Will this affect his golf game? Probably.
What an ego he must have to think this information would never be leaked out to the media!

we the public pays his paycheck so even though I like this man, he is in the public eye for the good and the bad. You can't have it all. With being in the public eye we also get the bad information about him. That comes with the JOB. But the truth will come out either way. Again if he wasn't in the public eye we wouldn't have even known about this.
Sorry but you are in the public eye.

People out there, does Tiger Woods care about what your families are doing. Every one has the right to a private life and because he is an Icon, a profesional in golf. This is insane to want to pry in to his family life.

I feel as a human being and a person we all need to give Tiger some slack! I only hold one man up to the highest of all standards and he walked this earth long ago! As fans of people and sports we tend to get overexcited when good and bad happens to our beloved sports figures. All he is asking for in a tough time in his life is for the Sharks and Barracudas to stay back until his wounds have healed and he can again return to the limelight! Give the guy a break! I am not the one who needs to believe him! I trust he will find a way to come out of this more tenacious and on fire. I see the good and positive in him and expect all will be well for him once again!

Tiger might want this to be private but clearly it isn't. I belive he has had some excellent legal advice and really poor PR advice. He should take a lesson from Sir Charles (Barkley) and avoid the mistake President Bill (Clinton) made. Sooner or later the truth will be public regardless of Tiger's desire.

What ever the reason this happened it's none of our business. Why are people so nosey, wanting to know every bodie's business. Especially the News reporters. Why do we need to know? What are you going to do about it if you do find out what happened. People need to mind their own business and leave other people's alone. You go Tiger, don't tell them anything. I'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS Grannylou

I call for a formal Congressional Investigation. There is someone to blame for this tragidy, and there should be Hell to pay. They are to rich and perty to be left off.

Name: H2O Date: Tuesday, Dec 01 2009

If incident was purely an unfortunate accident, why the delay in discussing with police ? Sounds to me like the spin doctors needed some planning time.

Name: H2O Date: Tuesday, Dec 01 2009

It is none of our business but it sure is the police departments business. If it is true that he was unfaithful then I believe he got what he deserved.

Name: Golfergirl Date: Tuesday, Dec 01 2009

It might be true, it might not. I like Tiger, but it's none of my business what happened. It's up to them to file charges if need be. Let's get past this and watch him as a golfer.

The "question" is, was there domestic violence? I don't care about any affair. Any other citizen, without Woods money, would have been investigated and put in jail and prosecuted for domestic violence.

Just how ridiculous is it that this accident has caused such an uproar! If it were anyone else, no one would even care, nor should they. No matter what the circumstances, it's a private matter and none of our business -- we've got better things to worry about. Tiger, I for one wish you well and hope you and your family have a nice holiday, in spite of all this nonsense.
